Great Friends

Today Friday- we were so luck to have 2 of my very good friends from school join us.  Tarryn- who used to live across the road from me and Colette with her daughter Kaylee met up here at 9:30 ish.  So amazing to see them!  We followed them to the first stop Moses Mabhida stadium, but the cable car was out of service and the jump booked until 3- so we put our name down and off t the next stop- UShaka.  This is an amazing huge aquarium - but also with a shopping walk, water slides, restaurants and so much more.  As we arrived some amazing Zulu dancers we putting on a show for us- impressive. We strolled through and found a Milkey lane for a a soft serve with a flakey just like the old days. Then we found ourselves on the water with a stunning view of the ocean and all the way down the walk way- we of course had to take a quick ride in a rickshaw - never done that before.  Strolling down this boardwalk was wonderful - it goes on for miles and miles - it was built for the 2010 World Cup.  By this time we were all a little hunger - lunch time.  In the cars we followed Tarryn to Florida Road and the House of Curry.  No problem getting a table for 7 and then we ordered our bunny chows.  They were so good- but oh so much food.  A little way up the road and we had a spectacular view of the city- while a political rally was going on mind you!
By this time we were ready for the drop back at the stadium.
Oh course Frank was out and Delaney too was not sure- so it was Danica and me.  We signed the waiver- yikes- put on the harnesses and 10 of us were on our way into the stadium- all the spectators went inside to observe! At the bottom of the arch, the guide locked us in and we started the accent to the top of the arch - omg 357 steps straight up.  Thank goodness I was at the back so I didn't hold the young 'uns up.  Also so glad I wore a hoodie so I wouldn't be cold- so hot!!!
When made it- then much to my shock the person at the back is the person Who jumps first! Oh great - just enough time to catch my breath and I was being showed down a ladder to th jump platform - no time to think about it- I was clipped in and then it was 1,2,3 jump- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.  That was high 88meters is high- but after the free fall there is no huge jerk- it was pretty smooth.  Whew that done they pulled me up and it was over.  Next up was Danica- she didn't even scream- just moth open and off she went. Lucky for us we didn't have to wait for everyone to finish- we clipped in and climbed all those stairs down - working off that curry lunch.
We were all exhausted by this time so we sat and had a Jacksonville coffee for some last catching up (26 years of catch up in a few hours is so tough).  But Tarryn had to leave to go pick up her daughter and our wonderful day of friends came to an end.  Good news is we are still not hungry so won't need dinner.
